McDermott Awarded Megalodon Platform Installation In Gulf Of Mexico

McDermott International, Inc. (NYSE: MDR) (“McDermott”) announced today that one of its subsidiaries was awarded a contract to provide transportation and installation services to Walter Oil & Gas Corporation (“Walter”) for the Megalodon platform destined for South Timbalier Block 311 in the Gulf of Mexico. The project is expected to be included in McDermott’s third quarter 2014 backlog.

ABB Wins $35 Million HVDC Upgrade Order In Canada

ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has won an order worth about $35 million from Hydro-Québec to upgrade the 350 megawatt (MW) Madawaska high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission link, that connects the grids of New Brunswick and Hydro Québec in southeast Canada. The order was booked in the second quarter of 2014.

MHI Receives Order For Three Automated People Mover (APM) Systems At Orlando International Airport

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI), with the cooperation of Sumitomo Corporation, has received an order to design, build, operate, and maintain three separate Automated People Mover (APM) systems at the Orlando International Airport (OIA) in Orlando, Florida, to be completed in 2018. With this fifth order, MHI will have seven Airport APM systems in the United States.

Alstom Awarded Contract To Deliver Six Large Power Transformers To Amprion

Alstom has been commissioned a contract by transmission grid operator Amprion GmbH to deliver six large power transformers. The transformers, with a rated power of 350 MVA / 400 kV and 600 MVA / 400 kV, will be manufactured in Alstom’s Mönchengladbach plant, and delivered by late 2015. The project will modernise the substations in Niederstedem, Urberach, Pfungstadt and Walsum in Germany.
