BASF To Expand Compounding Capacities For Engineering Plastics In Europe

BASF is expanding the compounding capacities for engineering plastics in Europe. Presumably from 2017 it will be possible to additionally produce up to 70,000 metric tons per year of Ultramid® (PA: polyamide) and Ultradur® (PBT: polybutylene terephthalate) at the Schwarzheide site, Germany.

Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) announced today that ICA Fluor, its industrial engineering and construction joint venture with Empresas ICA, S.A.B. de C.V. (BMV and NYSE: ICA), signed a contract with Pemex Transformacion Industrial to supply detail engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the utilities and offsites that are part of the Tula Refinery upgrade at Hidalgo, Mexico.

BASF Starts Operations At 300,000-Metric-Ton TDI Plant At Ludwigshafen Site

BASF today officially inaugurated the new TDI (toluene diisocyanate) plant at its Ludwigshafen site. The plant has an annual capacity of 300,000 metric tons of TDI. The total investment, including precursors, is over €1 billion. This is the largest investment ever made at the site and will create around 200 new jobs.
