First Solar, Inc. (Nasdaq: FSLR) today announced that Photosol, a French photovoltaic (PV) solar energy company, has selected its high performance, lower-carbon, thin film modules to power 14 utility-scale solar power plants with a total capacity of 106.5 megawatts (MW)DC.
The Puerto Libertad photovoltaic plant in the State of Sonora (México) will see its capacity increased by 50% to 339 MWp (270 MW rated capacity) following the signature of a private purchase agreement between the joint venture that owns the project (participated at 50% by ACCIONA Energia and TUTO Energy) and the company TUTO Energy Trading.

Petrofac has signed a contract worth close to US$600 million with Salalah LPG SFZCO LLC (SLPG), wholly owned subsidiary of Oman Oil Facilities Development Company LLC (OOFDC), to undertake the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of its Salalah LPG extraction project in the southern part of Oman.

Dominion (NYSE: D), today announced a major expansion of its solar alliance with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Inc., an Amazon.com company, to add 180 megawatts of solar generating capacity in five Virginia counties. Construction of the facilities will be enabled through long-term power purchase agreements between Dominion subsidiary, Dominion Energy, Inc., and an affiliate of Amazon's cloud computing business, AWS. The solar facilities are expected to enter service in late 2017.
