In June 2015, Siemens was awarded its single biggest order ever for the expansion of the Egyptian power supply. Now, only 18 months after the signing of the contract, Siemens has set a new worldwide benchmark for the execution of fast-track power projects.
Siemens, together with its Japanese consortium partner Marubeni Corporation, has received an order for the delivery of a turnkey combined cycle power plant to Thailand. Purchaser is the state-owned utility Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).
Siemens received an order from Castle Peak Power Company Limited(CAPCO) for the delivery of a power block for a new combined cycle unit in its Black Point Power Station in Tuen Mun, in the northwest of Hong Kong. This marks the first order for Siemens power plant components from Hong Kong in 20 years.
GE by applying existing hardware and software solutions, today announced that up to a new analysis that can reduce by 10% the carbon dioxide emissions from coal and gas-fired power plants around the world.
GE today released a first-of-its-kind analysis of global power plants, which found that carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from the world’s fleet of coal and gas plants can be reduced by 10 percent – the equivalent of removing 95 percent of cars off U.S. roads – when existing hardware and software solutions are fully applied.

Essar Power Hazira Commissions Second Unit Of 135 MW

Essar Power Hazira Ltd, a subsidiary of Essar Power Ltd, today announced the successful commissioning of the second unit of its 2x135 MW power project in Hazira. Completed in a record 53 days—from IBR Hydrotest to final synchronisation—it is among the swiftest commissioning for a unit of this size. The first unit was commissioned in July last year.
NOORo I, NOORo II and NOORo III, three solar thermoelectric power plants belonging to the largest solar complex on the planet, located in Ouarzazate (Morocco), are turnkey developments of the SENER engineering and technology group, in which the latter provides its own technology. These facilities are expected to attract the attention of the majority of visitors at the COP22 Conference of the Parties, to be held between November 7 and 18 in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh.
Essar Power Ltd (EPoL) today announced that it has completed Phase I (2x30 MW) of the 120 MW Paradip Power Plant following the synchronisation of the 30 MW second unit with the Odisha state grid on 28 September 2016. With this milestone, Essar Power’s installed capacity now stands at 4,705 MW.
Skanska has signed a contract with Eidsiva Vannkraft AS to build Nedre Otta power plant in the municipalities Sel and Vågå, Norway. The contract is worth NOK 657M, about SEK 650M, which will be included in the order bookings for Skanska Norway for the third quarter in 2016.
Amec Foster Wheeler announces today that it has been awarded a contract by JGC Corporation to design and supply a circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) steam generator for the SEC210 Phase 2 Project in the Philippines for Sarangani Energy Corp. (SEC), part of Alsons Power.
