FCC has commenced operation of the new Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) at McCommas Bluff Landfill facility south of Dallas, Texas, receiving all of the material from the city's single recyclable waste container Dallas and also the city of University Park, Texas, which in November 2016 awarded FCC a five-year service contract for the treatment and commercialization of recyclable waste in the city.

In October 2016, the FCC Environment signed a £ 142m contract to design, finance, build and operate the Millerhill Energy and Resource Recovery Center (RERC), Midlothian, located on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The agreement provides for a construction period of 30 months, and the start of the activity is scheduled for 2019, followed by a term of operation for the next 25 years.
